WHAT IT IS

A residential lot surfaced in several thousand painted bowling balls, and still growing.

Todd Ramquist and Kiaralinda started decorating their Safety Harbor house in 1990 and did not stop. The yard is mosaic, sculpture, mirror, glitter, and bowling balls, hundreds of them, painted, stacked, and set into the ground. It is a private home on an ordinary street, which is the whole point: the neighbours could have complained and instead the city put it on the tourist map. Interior tours can sometimes be arranged.
